This has become one of my favorite philosophies of life. The older I get, the more important family becomes. However, my children and grandchildren are scattered all over the world.
Often the only way I get to see them is if I send them an airplane ticket. Maybe I get to see them during the major holidays, like Thanksgiving or Christmas. They’re too busy with their own lives.
However, if I died tomorrow, they would all jump on a plane to be here, crying and putting flowers on my coffin, and exclaiming how much they love and miss me.
So I say, “Appreciate me while I’m here! Send me flowers while I’m alive.”
